Ingredients
1 lb hamburger
2 tbls Franks Hot Sauce
1 onion
4 cloves of garlic
3 cups frozen spinach
8 oz fresh mushrooms
2-3 lbs potatoes, sliced
4 oz. butter
4 tbls. flour
3 cups milk
1-2 cups pepper jack cheese
1-2 cups mozzarella/ Italian / cheddar cheese
Salt and Pepper to taste
Directions
Brown hamburger and set aside. Saute onions for 5 min. then add garlic, spinach and mushrooms and cook until liquid mostly evaporated. Place a layer of sliced potatoes on bottom of 9x13 dish. Then spread 1/2 of the hamburger mixture over the potatoes followed by 1/2 of the onion mixture. Repeat layers finishing with a layer of potatoes on top. Melt butter and add flour. Cook until bubbly then slowly add milk. After the sauce comes to a boil slowly add the cheese, making sure melted after each addition. Add salt and pepper. Pour the sauce evenly over the potatoes. Bake at 350 for at least an hour or until potatoes are fork tender. Cover with tin foil to keep the cheese from burning.
